Visually Die Antwoord seem to turn more and more into something like a South African hip hop band version of Lady Gaga. The video for the Diplo-produced track “Evil Boy” at least is worth a collective consideration to find out what we’re dealing with here. You can vote below the clip (or comment below the post), I hope you’re alright with only three possible answers.
Hey guys, I recently got critizised several times for posting too many picture galleries (like the one below) and single pictures on this site instead of “real” content. I’ve always wanted CATCH FIRE to be a very visual site, but I surely don’t want to annoy or even bore people with too many pictures. So please tell me what you think and vote:
"There are too many pictures and picture galleries on CATCH FIRE":
I can't get enough of these galleries, post more of them. (33%, 16 Votes)
I completely agree. (2%, 1 Votes)
I don't care. (2%, 1 Votes)
I think the mix is perfect. (60%, 29 Votes)
Less pictures of guys and more pictures of other things would be cool. (3%, 1 Votes)

Hey folks, yesterday I had the idea of putting together a little compilation of all the music videos I’ve postet here during my first year of running this blog. I think this year someting like a little revolution for music with a queer/LGBT backround took place if you think about the success of bands like The Gossip Or Grizzly Bear and the amount of really great videos and singles that were released. I decided to make a poll out if this list so we can all re-watch the videos and find out together which ones we like most. It would be great if you’d all join this little experiment and I hope you don’t mind that I’m the one who picked out the “nominations”. If you have fruther suggestions for a video I may have missed let me know in the comment field. You can vote below, or watch all the nominated videos on this page and vote there:

Here’s some artwork of Stephen Irwin’s exhibition “Sometimes When We Touch” that was shown at the Invisible-Exports gallery in New York City this month. The pictures are taken out of vintage porn magazines and the explicit parts of them are erased. The website The Sword, my source for these pictures, also posted this link to an article about “Erased Porn” as a genre, but I think I’ll refuse to take this whole thing too serious.
Pretty Shortbus-actor and singer-songwriter Jay Brannan is going to release a cover record on July 7th and is touring through the US in spring and through Europe in autumn. I’m not sure if I really like this guy’s music the same way I like his looks – a lot of his stuff to me sounds actually kind of cheesy. But for his new album he managed to arrange a quite acceptable version of the Cranberries’ “Zombie”. Or what do you think about the song?
A new queer zine called Try State is out now. The release information email tells us that the magazine “focuses on contemporary art and photography and features the world’s most edgy, creative, innovative and interesting images available.” That’s quite a statement. Let’s see if it can compete with the other zines.
In November 1975 Pier Paolo Pasolini was murdered by being run over by his own car several times at a beach near Rome. Giuseppe Pelosi, a seventeen-year-old hustler was arrested for the murder and confessed. But until today the case remains unsolved, espacially since in 2005 Pelosi retracted his confession saying that he was forced to admit the murder by three people “with a southern accent” who called Pasolini a “dirty communist”. It’s also told that the Italian secret service did a strange intervention in the process of investigation. And there is also a theory that says Pasolini “organised” his death himself since there are parallels between motives of his movie and the way he died.
Update: There used to be a poll here so you could vote why Passolini dies but the link is a dead end now and it doesn’t make sense to start a new poll. Sorry.
