Brooklyn based singer/songwriter Ian Isiah‘s debut video was just banned from YouTube, another reminder of how thankful we should be that Vimeo is out there. The hyper-sexual clip features boychild and is an impressive first glimpse of what we are to expect from the next-level-R&B artist, who used to sing gospel back in his hometown Baltimore and now after modelling, dancing for Le1f and performing at the Opening Ceremony 10th Anniversary party is about to release his debut LP on the emerging New York based label UNO. For more information more about Isiah, who is also closely affiliated to Hood By Air and the GHE20G0THIK crowd, please check out the interview with him in the current issue of BAD GRAMMAR magazine or stream this episode of the Universopolis show on East Village Radio, in which he talks about his background has an artist and plays more of his songs and some of the music influencing him. The video “M1NDFVCK” was directed by Mitch Moore.

LE1F has released his new single “Coins” via Soundcloud today. The track (originally produced for the Norwegian hip hop act A-laget by Norwegian producers Drippin & Souldrop last year) will be on his upcoming mixtape “Fly Zone” which will be out next Monday (download here):

Cakes the Killa is about to release his new mixtape (album?) “The Eulogy” via Mishka Records on Tuesday. The first single is called “Goodie” and is the ideal continuation of his debut tape “Easy Bake Oven” from 2011:

Another exciting new DIY fashion label based in Brooklyn: RHLS (Ruffeo Hearts Lil Snotty) was founded in Olympia (WA) in 2005 by designers R. Mackswell Sherman and Sarah Jones, who since 2010 live in New York and run the concept store MOVES. Their cartoon/ethnic style outfits may appear familiar to you, it has just recently have appeared in the video to “Wut”, the new single of Brooklyn based rapper Le1f (who is one of the models of their SS 2012 look book). The duo also has just managed to successfully raise more than $7,000 for the production of their fall/winter collection “Emotional Icons On Frozen Streets” on the community investment platform Smallknot. Here’s a preview of the new collection, for the whole look book check out the RHLS website.
