More Music: Banjee Power
… and nice outfits. By the Ab Soto, the guy who runs the Dirty Butt blog.
Johnny Dangerous/ Q-Boy: Hot Line
I must admit that I’m not a really big fan of Johnny Dangerous. It’s nothing personal, I even think he’s cute and everything. It’s just that his music doesn’t really knock me off my feet. But this collab video with Q-Boy (who’s music also doesn’t really convince me) and Soce (who’s music I like) is really worth to be posted here I think. I like it when gay hip hop gets kind of nasty.
Ab Soto: Banjee Power
This is a video showing Ab Soto, the guy behind the Dirty Butt blog performing his new song “Banjee Power” live. I must admit that the song hasn’t reached my subconscious yet but i really like the style and the performance of the whole thing. The song can be listened to in a better quality on Ab’s myspace page, he also has a nice video archive on youtube.

“London – Bette Midler says 50 Cent has “made her life worth living”.
The Wind Beneath My Wings singer revealed the rapper, who has been helping Midler’s group the New York Restoration Project build a public garden in his childhood neighbourhood, has had a huge impact on her charity work.
“He is one of the newest members of our tribe. He has really made my life worth living. 50 has been with me through thick and thin,” she said.
The hip-hop star is equally enraptured with Midler and has fuelled rumours of a duet by insisting collaborating with the 63-year-old star would be “hot”.
“Look how beautiful things are and how nice it feels when I’m around her,” said the rapper, speaking at the spring picnic for the New York Restoration Project in Fort Tryon Park.
“Me and Bette collaborating would be really hot. But I’d need to make something new for her. For the right song, we’d definitely get together.”
“I really can’t rap, but I’d like to sing in the background on Get Rich or Die Tryin.
“He is such a gorgeous star – holy cow! He’s like the Godfather of Jamaica, Queens,” Midler added.”
Filling A Gap: Zion-I
Zion-I are my new hip hop heroes following the Cool Kids which were I think the only hip hop group/ act I really listened to in 2008. It’s a duo from Oakland and their music is a very entertaining mixture of oldschool and futuristic hiphop elements, their album has already been released in January. If found Zion-I’s new video on Kanye West’s blog and since then they’ve successfully replaced Lady Gaga when I listen to music at the gym. I only have one problem: I don’t really unterstand the lyrics. That’s why I can just hope that they aren’t embarrassing or even homophobic. But that would be untypical for hip hop from Oakland I think.
