Grizzly Bear

Music Ticker: Neon Indian/ Grizzly Bear, Final Fantasy, The Younger Lovers, Peaches, OK Go

+++ Neon Indian have turned on their eighties generator again to remix Grizzly Bear’s “Cheerleaders”. You can ckeck them out the two results of this experiment on their MySpace page (via Pitchfork) +++

+++ Owen Pallet aka Final Fantasy is releasing a new album on January 12th. One of the new songs called “Lewis Takes Action” can already be downloaded on the label’s website +++

+++ The Younger Lovers have been interviewd by a nineties riot grrl/hardcor zine called Liquid. You find the interview on the band’s website +++

+++ Peaches‘ video for “Trick Or Treat” is definitely the most boring one in her series, but it makes sense considered that the track is also the most boring one on the album +++

+++ If Prince would be an indie rock band he would sound like OK Go. This is their new video (via Colin Quinn):

Poll: Queer Music Video 2009

quermu1

Hey folks, yesterday I had the idea of putting together a little compilation of all the music videos I’ve postet here during my first year of running this blog. I think this year someting like a little revolution for music with a queer/LGBT backround took place if you think about the success of bands like The Gossip Or Grizzly Bear and the amount of really great videos and singles that were released. I decided to make a poll out if this list so we can all re-watch the videos and find out together which ones we like most. It would be great if you’d all join this little experiment and I hope you don’t mind that I’m the one who picked out the “nominations”. If you have fruther suggestions for a video I may have missed let me know in the comment field. You can vote below, or watch all the nominated videos on this page and vote there:

Up And Coming: Grizzly Bear

Here’s a nice fanvideo for the new Grizzly Bear single “Two weeks”. I found it on Planet Tampon, the film material is footage from the French film ‘Le Balloon Rouge’. Grizzly Bears new album Veckatimest is going to be released next week. I’m kind of surprised actually how singer Ed Droste suddenly turned into some new gay indie icon. When did this start? Here you find two interviews with him, the first one I found on eastvillageboys.com, the second one is from the OMG-blog.
