The italian guy in the first video stops talking at 0:30. Thanks Todd & Martin for introducing me to Mr Berkeley! Another one of his stunning choreographies here.

Psychedelic Choreography x 2: Busby Berkeley / Michel Gondry

The Classic Version x 2: Bulletproof / Heartless
Thanks Knut.
IZZY / Wenarto x 2
A friend of mine just sent me the link to one of the following videos by a guy who calls himself “Wenarto” and who posted dozens of clips on his Youtube channel in which you see him and his friends singing all kinds of songs from different contexts (mostly opera). We especially like his friend IZZY who seems to be a only able to perform properly if he’s allowed to get rid of his shirt. I’m fine with that. Thanks, Eike!
The xx: Great Band, Great Cover
Some songs get worse when they are covered, others get better. Way better. Thanks, Knut.
More Piano Magic
Remember the videos of this guy playing piano versions of R’n B songs I postet here? Here’s his Indie counterpart: The Voluptuous, a duo from Canada. This is their version of one of my favourite songs by the Magnetic Fields. And the original version because it’s such a nice song. Via planet tampon.
PS22 Chorus x 2
I love this procect. These kids are amazing. Here are the links to their blog and their Youtube account.
More Breaking News: Madonna Musical
UPDATE: Thanks to a friend of mine we now have a first impression of the musical. It looks great! Thanks, Daniel.
FROM BBC (via Lady Bunny Blog):
“A musical about pop star Madonna’s attempts to adopt a young African girl is being performed at the Edinburgh Fringe by a Malawian cast.
The 50-year-old star is portrayed in the play “Mercy Madonna of Malawi” by a black male actor in a blonde wig.
One of the performers, Shombi Banda, claims he was heckled by the star when he performed for her in Malawi.”
Poll: Jay Brannan's "Zombie" Cover
Pretty Shortbus-actor and singer-songwriter Jay Brannan is going to release a cover record on July 7th and is touring through the US in spring and through Europe in autumn. I’m not sure if I really like this guy’s music the same way I like his looks – a lot of his stuff to me sounds actually kind of cheesy. But for his new album he managed to arrange a quite acceptable version of the Cranberries’ “Zombie”. Or what do you think about the song?
The Fog Machine's On
Best literal video version ever.
Painfully Beautiful Cover
Casiotone for The Painfully Alone played a really nice show in Berlin yesterday evening. It’s a relief that singer Owen Ashworth decided to play half of the show with a band although it seems to be only a project. My personal highlight of the concert was a cover version of Bruce Springsteens “Streets Of Philadelphia” that can also be found cover record “Advance Base Batterie Life” that was released nearly at the same time as the regular album. Owen recorded the song together with his cute brother Gordon who’s also into music (he openend the concert yesterday with an athmospheric drone/ experimental set) and who’s playing in his live band. Here’s a clip of the song performend live, too. Sorry for the poor sound quality. And no, this blog is not turning into a music blog. There are actually more “film” posts.
