Frédéric Grançon aka Fredster is an artist based in Paris. If you’re living there or if you’re from Brussels you may know him from the nice drawings he’s done for the third issue of “Le Supi” zine. He’s also part of the team that runs the “Mascara Disporder” queer music blog I already mentioned here. His drawings are minimalist and at the same time very detailed, I’m never really sure if they comfort or disturb me, but I think that’s exactly what makes them so exciting. Joapa is the alias of a Brasilian illustrator called João Paulo Tiago from Belo Horizonte I discovered on my journey through homocomix (see below). I can’t really relate to all the stuff he has uploaded on his deviantART page but as you can see he’s pretty talented in drawing beautiful b/w pictures of cute hunky men (actually a lot of them show himself). For some reason Blogger’s crusade against gay blogs with explicit contents especially seems to hit sites showing pornographic manga comics  really hard (one of the saddest examples surely is Gabe’s Yaoi Corner I recently postet here). Especially electronic versions of the so-called bara comics, a genre my flatmate just introduced to me seem to be pretty hard to find now. Bara is often considered the “real” gay manga genre due to the fact that the comics show very masculin (mostly pretty chubby) guys, while the more popular yaoi comics are mostly created and read by women. But it is not impossible to find sites that feature full-length bara mangas. Here are a few useful links if you have a soft spot for hand-drawn chest hair.
