+++ Lemonade are currently working on a follow-up to their “Pure Moods”-EP and have just released a nice new free track called “The Place Where You Belong”. The song is a cover of an R’n B tune by Shai released in 1994. You can download it right here, for more info check out Lemonade’s tumblr. The Place Where You Belong by LemonadeMusic

+++ Oakland’s Brontez Purnell has not only just released a new video with two new songs of the upcoming The Younger Lovers album “Rock Flawless”, but also this gorgeous short film of a performance of his very own Brontez Purnell Dance Company. The piece is called “Free Jazz” and premiered at the Berkeley Art Museum in February, read more about it here.
Justin Kelly is an independent film maker who has directed a lot of great music videos for great bands and projects from the queer music scene of the San Francisco Bay Area such as Hunx And His Punks (“Cruising, You Don’t Like Rock’n Roll”), Hey Willpower (“Double Fantasy II”) and the Younger Lovers (“Danny”). I really like the way Kelly manages to put together videos that are so full of good ideas and that are visually so well done that although you see that they where shot without a big budget they just don’t really feel like low-budget-videos. What I didn’t know is that he also made a bunch of short films, I hope that I’ll get the possibility to see them some time. Here are some of his current pices of work works, you find more stuff on his website, his YouTube page, or his Vimeo page (That’s where I found the picture on top). I also added a new Tag called “Justin Kelly” to the Category funcion because I’m pretty sure this is not going to be the last posting showing his work.

+++ I proudly present the new video by the Younger Lovers (via Think Pink Radio). It’s for the song “Sha-Boo-Lee”:
A few days ago BUTT Online posted the latest episode of Travis Mathews‘ “In Their Room” project, which allows us to share some intimate moments with Brontez who can be observed smoking, singing, talking and playing with his cock in front of the camera. I posted the video below, the complete movie can watched here or on in a better resolution in the video section of Mr. Mathews website.

+++ Peaches‘ video for “Trick Or Treat” is definitely the most boring one in her series, but it makes sense considered that the track is also the most boring one on the album +++
+++ If Prince would be an indie rock band he would sound like OK Go. This is their new video (via Colin Quinn):
It may seem a bit early to recommend a website that’s just been started, but in this case the first steps look so promising, that I think it really makes sense to let you know about it right now. Johnny B is a “magazine with queer content” that started on October 13th, featuring interesting stuff like a nice interview with Brontez Purnell. Why the maker behind the site calls it a “magazine” and not a blog although it actually looks like one may result from the aim to show that the site stands in the tradition of the (contemporary) queer zine culture. So I hope that I don’t hurt anybody’s feeling by putting it into my “Good Blogs” section. Check it out. Source: !!omg blog!!.
Oakland-based Brontez Purnell is the guy who is responsible for the fact that I downloaded my first Itunes-album in months after falling in love with the latest video of his current band Younger Lovers. Brontez is a member of Gravy Train!!! and also does a zine called “Fag School” (the follow-up of “Schlepp Fanzine“) which not only features articles on nightmare parties and blackouts, the definition of a rollerblader, undie challenges and romantic follies (as we get to know here), but also job- and cruising-reviews. What exactly this means you’ll find out if you watch this video:
Still great: “Cruising” by Hunx And His Punx. Learn more about them here.
I’m totally obsessed with this video and the band, that’s why this is the second time I’m posting it here. Learn more about the Younger Lovers here, here and here.
