I haven’t done this in a while, but i’ve stumbled upon so many interesting tumblrs recently that I thought it would be nice to resurrect the “Good Blogs” section. So here are 10 tumblrs that really have my appreciation (picture above via suk.me):

Shaun Leonardo is a New York based visual artist, working in painting, performance and video. His work tackles the hyper-masculine image of the contemporary male, whilst also looking into racial stereotypes and ‘violent’ performances that constitute these stereotypes. His work is bound together with personal experience and expression; creating an almost mythic self portrait of ‘masculinity’.

+++ Israeli singer/songwriter Mary Ocher is releasing her album “War Songs” via Haute Areal on March 11 and has announced a record release party at HBC, Karl-Libknecht-Str. 9, Berlin at the same day. +++ If you live in or near San Francisco you should check out SPKR, an event by Honey Soundsystem taking place on Saturday, March 12 Public Works. The evening will be journey through the city’s underground dance clubs of the last 40 years, you find more detailed information on the venue’s website. 100% of the proceeds of this event will go directly to the San Francisco’s GLBT Historical Society.

Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson, founding member of Throbbing Gristle and Coil, passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 55 . This video for Coil’s version of “Tainted Love” depicts the the cruelty of HIV/AIDS and shows Marc Almond as Death himself, which is why it was widely banned. Today the MoMa owns a copy of it.
