Manon Kündig is today featured in Dazed Digital’s “The Joy Of Six”-series curated by Walter Van Beirendonck, who has picked out some of his favourite students from the Royal Academy of Antwerp. “Teddy Beard” is Kündig’s 2nd-year-collection, you find the complete shooting over at DD.

The September issue of Dazed & Confused pays tribute to Walter van Beirendonck. The magazine features an interview with the fashion designer about the contexts of his work, his inspirational sources and his work as a designer as the Antwerp Royal Academy. The also present a photo shooting by Scott Trindle and Robbie Spencer, which shows a selection of the designer’s past creations. The interview can also be found on the Dazed website, which is also worth visiting, because in reference to Van Beirendoncks’s former membership in the avant garde fashion group “Antwerp Six” the page currently presents profiles of six of his most promising students and some more pictures of his past collections.

Niels Peeraer by Dirk Alexander

After Alexaner Kampe and Astrid Andersen here’s another finalist of the ITS#Fashion competition. Niels Peeraer, a graduate of the Hogeschool Antwerp, is the winner of the RA award which is offered by RA, a concept store in Antwerp where is collection is going to be presented. Here are some pictures of a shooting of Peeraer’s 3rd year collection by a photographer called Dirk Alexander. Astrid Andersen is a Danish fashion designer based in London. She has recently graduated from London’s Royal College of Art. The collection was presented at presented at ITS#9 where also the “Exploded View”-collection of young designer Michael Kampe was shown. Thanks for the tip, Giacomo!

Michael Kampe: Exploded View 3BA Collection

Michael Kampe was born in Hamburg and since 2007 is a student of the Royal Academy in Antwerp, Belgium. In the fashion section of this year’s International Talent Support event that took place in Triest in July Kampe was the winner of the Diesel Award. The collection he presented at the show is based on the “exploded view drawings” used by technicians and engineers to shos how different parts of an object relate to each other. Good Blogs: HE SEEMS NICE & BLAAK

BLAAK and HE SEEMS NICE are another two nice examples of what I’ve recently tried to describe as “intuitive blogs”. Both of them are run by Devlin Hogg, a Canadian graphic designer. HE SEEMS NICE is Hoggs “personal inspiration archive”, a place where he brings together differents sorts of works from art, architecture, design and fashion, while BLAAK is a more experimental site by Hogg and Mel Paget (who’s site MAFIA-HUNT I recommended here a while ago), which offers a beautiful collection of random pictures both of them have collected.
