PICK 5: Alexis Blair Penney

I’ll keep it short: I already featured Alexis Blair Penney and his first official single “Lonely Sea” a couple of days ago, see below. Shortly after publishing the posting I thought it would be nice to have Penny as a contributor for the PICK-5 series and wrote him a message, which he answerd quickly within a couple of hours. “Such a rad video, there’s like 100 distinct scenes in it, all kind of nonsequiter, some heroin references, some weird like cumshot facial allusions, girls slapping their asses in time with hand-claps, he looks really hot. I love it. Great song too.”

4. Madonna – The Beast Within (Opening Credits from I’m Going To Tell You A Secret)

“This is a bizarre insanity of a documentary, it’s basically the opposite of Truth or Dare which I consider a seminal work of art and one of the reasons I perform, but this one is fun because she’s going completely nuts. She’s reading from Revelations and serving these really crazy looks, so into it.”

5. Patti Labelle – Isn’t It A Shame (Live 1985)

“She is definitely one of my all-time favorite singers and such a total maniac, this song is beautiful and heart-wrenching on the album with the girls from Labelle, really perfect harmonies, but here Patti is just giving it so crazy, she seems pretty coked out of her mind and is just losing it, I’m obsessed. When she rolls around on the floor I just wanna scream.”
