/// Music Ticker: Yawn, Sleighbells, Rufus Wainwright, Beyoncé, Sun Ra, Kele, Lightspeed Champion, The xx ///

+++ This is definitely my favourite personal discovery of the week: YAWN, a band from Chigago, make a very rhythm-based and at the same time quite openly structured rock music with – sorry for using the term – “world music” influences. So if you are already through with the latest albums of Vampire Weekend and Yeasayer check out Yawn’s self-titled E.P. which can be downloaded for free on their website (Via BIGSTEREO) +++

+++ The Sleighbells mix rough breakbeats with heavy guitar riffs and sound a little bit like a badass version of the Ting Tings. They release their debut album “Threats” on M.I.A.’s N.E.E.T label next week. You can listen to “Tell ‘Em”, the opener of the album, on The New Gay +++

+++ Rufus Wainwright‘s new album “Songs For Lulu” has been released two weeks ago. You can get a first impression of it by watching this video of him recording the song “Zebulon” or learn more about the (sad) background of the album by watching this promotional video +++

+++ In super short: This is Beyoncé‘s new video (thanks, Knut), here you find Kele’s debut song, this is the pretty goofy new video by Lightspeed Campion (see picture), this the link to a site where you can watch a Sun Ra BBC documentary online (thanks, Timi) +++

+++ If you haven’t seen it yet: here’s the new video by the ever-tasteful guys of The xx:
