Mark Aguhar’s ink drawing “If U R Gay I Want 2 Fuck U” (below) is one of the most reblogged pictures in the tumblr world these days. If you google his name you find out that Aguhar is studying in Austin, Textas and can be found on various online platforms like his Blogger blog, a tumblr and a pretty Flickr photostream on which he’s showing a lot of his current stuff. The pictures of his sculptures and installations look interesting as well although it’s hard to tell what they are about.
Moop Jaw member Antuong Nguyen is also shooting a new video for Peaches at the moment. The preview pictures on their website look promising. Via Life Is Not A Rehersal.
It’s kind of long for a trailer, isn’t it? It feels more like a short, roughly cut version of the movie. But mabye this is just a very early version and there is still a real trailer yet to come.
The 21st Century Maroon Colony is an art & design collective and think tank based in New York and San Francisco. It’s their aim to “honor the influence of the African Diaspora by recreating African textiles and design aesthetic”. Their stuff is really exciting. Check out their website (I especially recommend the News section) and their internet shop. Thanks for the link, Keanan.
Samuel & the Dragon is a duo from the UK that literally seems to have appeared out of nowhere. You find the video for their song “Diamonds On A Boat” on a lot of music blogs these days but noone really seems to know more about these guys than that they have a (pretty emty) MySpace page and that the song is going to be released on Moshi Moshi this month (preorder here). But why waste time with searching for needless background information. I think the video speaks for itself.
